Hmmmm.....

I am noticing a pattern here. I seem to post about once a week. I keep trying to post more often, but life just keeps getting in the way. Today, for instance, I have a sick girl, and a 14 year old. Then there is appeasing the neighbor (ughh..., but I still did it) and various other dramas that pop up.

I did sit down and get some work done. I made a fun little window hanger thingy for the girls room. And I have been making cuffs like crazy. I am making sets of cuffs with little pins and making them into gift sets. Fun, cute and functional.
Lets see... I haven't really had time to do any other writing. And to tell the truth, I have been so bogged down by things around here, that I haven't had the desire to do much creatively. I am still working on a 52projects project. I am taking each year of my life and writing down a memory, and trying to add a photo. Each year has its own index card and tells any memory. I love this idea because I can apply the same principle to everyone in the family and expand as needed. It can be used for as many memories as I want.

And, finally, Happy St. Patty's Day to you all.

52 Projects

I have lost that creative spark that I had at the beginning of this blog. I think it ran away due to stress. I am looking for work outside the home and we all know how that sucks.

So in an effort to find that spark I am back to the 52 projects book. Thank goodness for that book. Right now it feels like a little bit of sanity. One of my favorite projects right now is to right down 13 of my own personal superstitions. And that is turning out to be a much harder project then I thought. I have personal "things" that I am righting down and thinking about. Since own of the focuses of the book is to connect with family and friends, I think I will create a list (a fill in the blank) to send to friends and family. I want to know what their superstitions are.

The list so far is:

1) I have to say "thank you" every time I light incense

2) I capitalize the words Gods and Gods and Goddess no matter what the context.

3)I have to check my e-mail first when I get on the internet

But, I know I have a lot more and the e-mail thing is a habit, not a superstition. So, anyway, that is what I am working on right now. How about you?

It sure was...

A wacky Wednesday. We have a leak somewhere in the plumbing around the washing machine that is leaking all over the garage. We are currently waiting for a plumber.

I couldn't use the washer, so I made the above pretties instead. They are just simple and fun felt pencil toppers. I expect that I will be expanding on that concept in the near future. I already have some ideas floating around in my head.

We went to the library, of course. I found a book on composting. And vegitarian cookbook. The pic of Stinky is of what she does when we go to the library. She has to hold the door and she has to push the button on the elevator. Although today she did go down the stairs. She can't help it. These are her "things" and we just try to run with it.

I did get my 52 projects book and am looking through it and picking out some good ones. I think that I will need a couple of days to catch up and get my ducks in a row, before I leap into even more things I need to keep track of. And if I don't post for a couple of days that is why. I want to keep up on thi silly little blog though. It helps clear my mind. That cold from a week ago is still playing havoc on me and I am exhausted. So I feel cluttered.
Anyway, the plumber is here.

So when my head explodes....

Only two of us in this house are not sick. I am not one of them. One of the well ones is very bouncy. It has been a long day.

On the plus side, we did go to the library. I know I have said it before, Wednesday is library day. I try to stick to it no matter what, because it is a break every week. I love the public library here. The childrens section is huge and very welcoming. Because it is in a seperate part of the library (away from where the stodgy grownups are) the kids can be kids. The staff is starting to know that we come in every Wednesday and they aer super friendly. Anyway, we went today and I just sat on the floor with the girls playing with a big puzzle. I was pretty out of it.

I even worried if I would be able to work on my project today. Fortunalty, the project kind of worked on itself. (Sorry for the vagueness here, but like I said yesterday, I want to be sure this works the way I want).

So the point to the above is... on the way home from a mentally foggy trip to the library the following pictures are of what I saw on the road. The first is of a jacket or shirt of some sort that was just draped over a utility post thing. The second is a work glove lying in the middle of the road. Why does this seem important? Because 1) they were a block away from each other and 2) I find discarded articles of clothing odd. I assume the shirt was left by a new years reveler probably around 2 am on the first of January. The glove threw me for a loop. I don't tend to set things aside and forget them, and I don't tend to drop things. So this is a "thing" that catches my attention.

p.s. I ordered my own copy of 52 projects. I can't wait until I get it

Let's see what happens

Last night around 9p.m. I had this idea. I pictured a tote with this great handle. I love polka dots (I think I have said that before), and I am thinking of what I will make for spring. Some how the two are linked in my mind. Anyway, the above tote is the result of last nights random thought process. I think I might have been able to make two today, but I struggle with my sewing machine. Anyway I posted it on the local sight to try to sell it and we will see what happens.

I started my 52 Projects (write about your ufo sighting, and if you really want to know I will tell you). I will be working on my next one tomorrow. The book suggests writing anonomous letters and placing them in books in the library, or in a thrift store. I don't think I will be doing letters, but I have a couple of poems that I have been fiddling with that are good choices.

Speaking of writing, I would love to suggest the blog raincoatflashers. Just take a look, there is some really good stuff there (including two of my peices).

BTW: Random Santa!
