Finally

After months and months of searching, I HAVE A JOB!!!! That's right, I am shouting about it. I am very excited about the oppurtunity that is in front of me. I will begin training to be the ad director for midwiferytoday, a proffenssional journal for midwives. There are so many great things about this job. Frankly, one of the neatest things is that it is only 20 hours a week and I still get to be home with the kids after school.

I have been so busy getting ready to go back to work that I did, in all honesty, forget to blog. I hope that now that things have calmed down I will bel blogging more often. I have also been working on a sort of thereapy program. What I am doing is going through and looking at what sorts of things are important to me and my family and finding ways to keep them in the for front. This program is also helping me understand some of the insanity that krept into my life. Now, of course I just need to figure out how to tell the crazyness to go away. Funny how drama can derail creativity.

Speaking of that, I wonder if any of you know any artists who have lost their way. Lost their art, as it were. I know several and have been thinking alot about how to help them find it again. If any of you have ideas, let me know.

Peace
K

My goodness

I haven't posted for a while, because spring break got away from us. So here are some pics for your amusement.
The following two pictures were taken within five minutes of each other. In the first you can see the snow coming down pretty hard. The second that would be full on sunshine. That day the weather was insane. I had a house full of kids and they didn't know what the heck to do.
Gotta love this town!!!!

Spring Break and the living is crazy

The kids are home for a week. In theory not a big deal. But I have been so busy trying to find "real" work that I am woefully unprepared. Today they will be going swimming with friends. And that is the extent of our plans.

And again, I don't have alot to show you. I have been overwhelmed with my job hunt. We did spend Saturday at the UofO's Natural History Museum. The girls had a blast. I was very impressed with the questions they were asking as we played in the geology room. I think I have two future scientists on my hands.

Brother got mad at me yesterday, and decided to hide in a tree. This is Brother up a tree with a lawn chair. THere are those who know a story about a boy in Idaho, up a tree, with a lawn chair. A part of me is happy the tradition continues. Another part of me hopes that there is a special insurance for this particular practice!
If anything exciting happens over spring break, trust me, I will tell you all about it.

some more pics

This continues to be a tough week for me personally. Truthfully, I feel as though too many people want things from me. And I am not at all sure what I am getting in return. Typically, this would not be a problem, but right now it is, and that is okay. I shouldn't feel badly because I say I need help. I either help, or to step back, and I don't know which.

So for now, enjoy some pics I took yesterday at the Pioneer Cemetary on campus. Love some of the markers there.

things I have seen the last couple of days

Let me start off by saying the last few days have been very very stressful for me. I am dealing with some personal stuff, and I started a great new job. But, the biggest problem has been my alergies are working over time. So anyway, I thought I would just post some photos of stuff I have seen lately, with captions.

Little Bit doing homework in the public library this afternoon. She has taken to carrying around the pink pouch full pencils every homework day. i think there are 20 pencils in there.

This is how Sissy takes pictures now. This is a new phase of not letting me see her face.

This is just a pick tree downtown. I think the pink blossoms are what are killing me.

This is a turkey on the neighbors roof. The neighbor is behind us and slightly downhill. I looked out the slider while helping Little Bit do her homework and there it was. Today while driving the girls to school I saw two more walking down the street.

This is an alley downtown. It was so pretty. The houses along this street were very country cottage like. Just one of the things I love about this place.
Peace ,

Hmmmm.....

I am noticing a pattern here. I seem to post about once a week. I keep trying to post more often, but life just keeps getting in the way. Today, for instance, I have a sick girl, and a 14 year old. Then there is appeasing the neighbor (ughh..., but I still did it) and various other dramas that pop up.

I did sit down and get some work done. I made a fun little window hanger thingy for the girls room. And I have been making cuffs like crazy. I am making sets of cuffs with little pins and making them into gift sets. Fun, cute and functional.
Lets see... I haven't really had time to do any other writing. And to tell the truth, I have been so bogged down by things around here, that I haven't had the desire to do much creatively. I am still working on a 52projects project. I am taking each year of my life and writing down a memory, and trying to add a photo. Each year has its own index card and tells any memory. I love this idea because I can apply the same principle to everyone in the family and expand as needed. It can be used for as many memories as I want.

And, finally, Happy St. Patty's Day to you all.

52 Projects

I have lost that creative spark that I had at the beginning of this blog. I think it ran away due to stress. I am looking for work outside the home and we all know how that sucks.

So in an effort to find that spark I am back to the 52 projects book. Thank goodness for that book. Right now it feels like a little bit of sanity. One of my favorite projects right now is to right down 13 of my own personal superstitions. And that is turning out to be a much harder project then I thought. I have personal "things" that I am righting down and thinking about. Since own of the focuses of the book is to connect with family and friends, I think I will create a list (a fill in the blank) to send to friends and family. I want to know what their superstitions are.

The list so far is:

1) I have to say "thank you" every time I light incense

2) I capitalize the words Gods and Gods and Goddess no matter what the context.

3)I have to check my e-mail first when I get on the internet

But, I know I have a lot more and the e-mail thing is a habit, not a superstition. So, anyway, that is what I am working on right now. How about you?
